Lalita de Goederen - van Lamsweerde was born in the Netherlands on
June 4, 1979.

Lalita is married to Alexander de Goederen and has a son who was born in Delhi in March 2009. Before moving to Delhi in January 2007, Lalita has lived most of her life in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands.

Already at birth there was a connection between her and India, since her parents gave her an Indian name: Lalita. Her love for Indian developed when she was a child. Her dad introduced her to Indian classical music and took her a few times to India.

Lalita has always loved to be in the kitchen. Cooking is what she has been doing since she was a little girl and her passion is food. Starting her own restaurant therefore felt like it was meant to be.
